I was a little nervous, because I’d never given this type of reading before. I was going to be a kind-of detective, a seeker of souls lost in the mystery of time. Dora wanted me to contact spirits she had never met, because they held important clues to who she was, and where Dora came from. So, when she knocked on my office door a few afternoons ago, I whispered a quick prayer to my guides for help, then placed a smile on my face and ushered her in.

On the phone, Davia’s voice was restrained, yet I felt her anxiety. She said she’d been to a firewalking ceremony last week, and now she was hearing things and seeing shadowy figures in the corners of her eye. The experience had opened up something within her, she said, something that quickly became frightening and hard to manage. “Can you take it away from me?” she pleaded. “I don’t want to have this power anymore.”

The higher I climbed, the more wobbly my legs felt. According to the map, we were near – if not on top of – an energy vortex. I looked up. The summit of the mountain was maybe a few hundred feet away. So close… I wanted bragging rights to say I had reached the top of the red mountain. But with every step, the dizzier I felt… There was a strange yet wonderful energy tingling through my body…

GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD

I’m hesitant to go into graveyards. Not because I’m fearful of meeting the dead – I encounter helpful spirit people every day in my work. But I’ve found that in places like funeral homes and graveyards, there are restless spirits who don’t want to go into the light. They aren’t evil or malevolent, they just seem confused. And then they that want to attach themselves to me. I used to wonder why this was so, until I recently read something that made me understand why cemeteries can be so active for spirit, and why some intuitive people experience sadness and feelings of being watched.
