A MOTHER’S HOPE

When I greeted Juliette at my office door, I immediately sensed her sorrow. Her dark, shoulder-length hair was flecked with streaks of grey. As I escorted the well-dressed lady into my reading room, I thanked her for coming to see me, and tried putting her at ease with pleasant chitchat about the weather and her drive over. She sat in the chair across from my desk and played with the ends of her green scarf, rolling and unrolling the cloth around the fingers of her right hand. I wondered how I could calm Juliette down before our session would begin, but she immediately blurted out, “Please tell me – is my son in hell?”

ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS
I hope you all have had a nice holiday season. It was wonderful to take a break and spend time with my family. We’re already a few weeks into the new year, and I can’t believe how many intriguing questions I’ve received in the last few weeks. Like many of my clients, I’m looking forward to all the exciting possibilities 2013 has in store for us, considering all the nail-biting that same people went through over 12/12/12. Well, at least superstitious people won’t have to worry about 13/13/13!
THE UNBELIEVER

Roberto showed up for his appointment wearing a bright plaid shirt, sharply pressed jeans, and a frown that seemed to suggest he’d rather be sitting in a pub with his friends than visiting a psychic medium. Uh-oh, I thought, here’s another ‘Prove it to me’ kind of guy. Nevertheless, I gave him my brightest smile, thanked him for coming, and ushered him into my office. Wordlessly, he sat in the chair across from my desk and scratched his closely cropped beard. In my mind, my guides sent me the image of a brick wall – Roberto didn’t want to be read. “How can I help you?” I asked pleasantly. His gruff mumble: “You tell me."
PENNIES, FEATHERS AND HUGS

I once had a client who believed her husband, Jim, who had passed into spirit six months previously, had returned to Earth as a cat. Delores got this idea because several times while sitting in her backyard garden, thinking about how much she missed her partner of thirty-one years, a fluffy white cat had walked by. In fact, once the cat had stopped and looked at Delores, meowed once, then scampered off. While I do believe in reincarnation, I gently explained to Delores that I didn’t think her husband became the cat – instead, his spirit influenced the cat to pass by when she was remembering him. “It was Jim’s way of saying hi, and letting you know he’s thinking of you, too.” Then I told her some of the many ways our loved ones in spirit show us that they’re still around.
I MIGHT HAVE KNOWN HIM

Now that spring is here and the air is scented with the aromas of lavender and roses, I like to schedule my sessions so I can take a break here and there to walk through the neighbourhood. What a wonderful way to clear my head. I’m not a sun worshipper – in fact, my fair skin burns too easily – but I do enjoy the feel of the breeze in my hair. There’s an elementary school nearby; sometimes, I hear the manic sounds of kidlets blowing off energy during recess. And as I meander down tree-lined streets, I occasionally glance at a house, as if there’s some connection between me and that house, or someone living there. And for a moment, I stop and wonder…
